Last week, our homeless ministry was serving dinner. There was a new staff member helping us and asked one of the male residents to wait a sec while we prepare more plates. He obviously didn’t like that and proceeded to tell her and that he would “meet” her later to finish their conversation. She, was very shook up, felt threatened and planned on reporting him. Which meant he can’t return, even though he obviously was in need. It made me think about my pastor saying “hurt people hurt people.” Him being homeless may have contributed to his rudeness. But His plight does not give him any additional rights to behave that way. Pain may be a reason, But it is not an excuse to be a pain.
